The International Youth Convention 2026 did not start with lights and sound, It started with prayer.
For six solid hours, the youth of the Redeemed Christian Church of God gathered at the altar, because prayer is the foundation upon which true praise rises. It is in the place of prayer that hearts align with Heaven. We did not just start a convention; we opened the gates of Heaven itself.
And when those gates opened, light broke forth.
THE LIGHT HAS ARISEN
There is no darkness because we are candidates of Heaven. Under this open Heaven at IYC 2026, chains are broken, lives are lifted, stories are changing and transformation is taking place. The theme is not just a word on a banner; it is the reality in the air.
THE MOMENT BEFORE THE MARCH
Before the colours, the cheers and the cultural explosion, SATGO, Pastor Sola Olukoya, set the tone with an opening charge to the Youth Provinces. The instruction was given. A generation answered. The atmosphere was set.
HEAVEN RESOUNDING WITH PRAISE
Then the sound came. Pastor’s Seed Family (PSF) took the lead, joined by the National Praise Team, and the entire parade ground came alive. This is a major highlight of IYC 2026 a glorious display of joy, culture, and Kingdom pride With anointed ministers like Bidemi Olaoba, Gaise Baba and others leading the sound of rejoicing, we are not just talking about Heaven as a theme; we are giving Heaven a sound.
And then, province after province, Nigeria marched for Jesus.
ABUJA CAME WITH YAMS
Abuja did not just march; they brought a harvest. Tubers lifted high above their heads, bodies swaying to the music, and the whole parade ground roaring. The yam, the king of crops, stands for harvest, abundance, and provision. Abuja brought it to Heaven’s parade.
DELTA DON LAND!
The Delta Family took the field and the ground shook with joy. Their cultural song filled the air and they danced without restraint. Colourful prints everywhere, a green-and-white float that looked like a boat sailing across the field, flags waving, and a white banner held high. Delta brought the waters, the rhythm, and the joy.
EDO BROUGHT THE GATES
Edo came with a message. Tall painted gates in gold and white rolled onto the field, bearing the inscriptions: JESUS GATE and HEAVEN GATE. The message was clear — there is a gate, there is a way, and His name is JESUS. The parade ground caught the vision, and every phone went up.
OYO FAMILY! IBADAN PEOPLE
The Pacesetters have arrived! Oyo answered the call with one thunderous “HALLELUJAH!” Baskets lifted high, colourful wrappers shining, hands in the air, and a crowd dancing all the way across the field. Oyo came to celebrate.
ONDO FAMILY
They opened with “Osuba Re,” and the whole parade ground joined in, giving homage to the King. Green and white flags waved high, a sea of phone lights shone like stars in the night, and hands were lifted across the field. Ondo turned the parade ground into a sanctuary of praise.
OGUN FAMILY — THE HOST STATE
Redemption City sits right here in Ogun State and tonight the home team showed up in royal style. A horse dressed in red and yellow regalia led the way, followed by a white stretch limousine rolling majestically across the parade ground. Flags from Nigeria and nations around the world waved high as the crowd went wild. This is the Gateway State. This is HOME.
AKWA IBOM SET THE FIELD ON FIRE
The stage turned blazing red, the delegation gathered in front in white tops and colourful wrappers, and their homeland song had the whole parade ground singing along. Phones up, flags high, dancing everywhere. The Land of Promise showed up and showed out.
ENUGU & ANAMBRA FAMILY
Yams lifted high into the night sky, banners flying, and the whole family dancing across the field. In Igboland, the yam is more than food; it is the pride of the harvest, celebrated every year at the New Yam Festival. Tonight, the Coal City and the Light of the Nation raised it up in thanksgiving to the Lord of the harvest.
ABIA FAMILY IN THE HOUSE
Bright wrappers in red, orange, and gold, straw hats bobbing, and dancers getting down low on the parade ground. They call Abia “God’s Own State,” and tonight it showed. Joy unfiltered, culture on full display, all for Jesus.
AND MANY MORE FAMILIES SHOWCASED HEAVEN'S BEAUTY
From Lagos to Kano, from Rivers to Benue, from Kaduna to Cross River, every state came with its own colour, its own sound, its own culture. Talking drums, royal beads, calabashes, farm produce, fishing nets, woven baskets each province telling a story that our diversity is not divided, it is united in Christ. It was Nigeria in full colour, but Heaven in one voice.
This was more than a parade. It was prophecy. A glimpse of what Heaven will look like every tribe, every tongue, every culture, bowing to one King.
THE ENDING THAT IS ONLY THE BEGINNING
When the drums finally faded and the lights dimmed, nobody left the same. The baskets, the yams, the gates, the horses and the flags were not just props they were declarations that we are bringing everything we are and everything we have to Jesus.
The parade ground is empty tonight, but Heaven is full. Full of our praise, full of our dance, full of our surrender.
IYC 2026 has only just begun, but one thing is already clear: this generation is not just coming to Heaven, This generation is bringing Heaven down.
