Pastor Belemina Obunge, the Intercontinental Youth Pastor of the RCCG, shared some valuable insights.

He defined vision as knowing who you are, where you are going, and what will guide your journey. In simple terms, he said that thriving means experiencing growth and that loving and helping people is a privilege, not a job.

To create a thriving youth ministry, he said that the youth must feel valued, engaged, and trained. He emphasized that empowerment is essential for the youth to attain their full potential, and they need skills, opportunities, resources, resilience, and support. He also shared the internal struggles that the youth face, such as stress, sickness, sorrow, social isolation, setbacks, and societal pressure.

According to Pastor Belemina, personal qualities and clarity of purpose are crucial for the youth to succeed. He listed six qualities that the youth should focus on, including identifying their purpose, inspiring passion, interpersonal proficiency, integrity principle, inculcating purity, and investing personally.

To engage the youth, he suggested using energetic, enthusiastic, experimental, and exciting activities. He also emphasized that the youth are not replacements but reinforcements, and a youth pastor should have the mindset of a youth.

Their strength should be used as a tool for ministry.

Finally, he encouraged every youth minister to understand that they are called into their area of purpose. He emphasized that passion drives one beyond discouragement and that one should never give up, no matter how tough the situation may seem. The session was enlightening and inspiring.
